Setting Your Skin Type in the SunUp App
Setting your skin type in SunUp takes about 30 seconds and is the most impactful personalization setting in the app. Every recommendation, safe time calculation, SPF suggestion, and smart tip will be calibrated to your type. You can also set different skin types for each family member profile.
Try it in the app:
Open SunUp. Tap the profile icon (top right or bottom tab). Tap "Edit Profile." Tap "Skin Type" and select your Fitzpatrick type using the visual guide provided. Tap Save.
Pro tip:
You can update your skin type any time in Settings → Profile. If you have recently been spending a lot of time outdoors and your skin has darkened, your functional UV sensitivity may temporarily decrease — but your genetic type does not change.
