Set the Location

By default, SunUp uses your current GPS location. But you can change this to anywhere — search by city, state, or full address. This is what makes the feature powerful for remote checking: you can get a safe exposure time for your child at summer camp in the mountains, your parents in Florida, or a friend traveling abroad. The UV forecast is pulled for that specific location.

Try it in the app:

Tap the location field and either keep your current location or search for the person's location by city or address.

💡

Pro tip:

At high-altitude locations (mountain camps, ski resorts), UV can be 40–60% higher than at sea level. Always check the actual location, not your home city.
